Missing important notifications?
If you're not getting notifications but you should be, there are a few common causes. Most of the time it's a permissions issue or a notification setting that's been turned off accidentally.
Check your notification settings
- Go to your My Family Hub account settings
- Select "Notifications"
- Make sure the notification types you want are toggled ON
- Check if you're in "Quiet hours" (notifications are silenced)
- Save any changes and go back to the app
Check your phone's notification permissions
Your phone controls which apps can send notifications. Even if the app has notifications turned on, your phone might be blocking them:
iPhone: Settings → Notifications → My Family Hub → Allow Notifications (toggle on)
Android: Settings → Apps → My Family Hub → Notifications → Allow notifications (toggle on)
Other things to check
- Do Not Disturb – If your phone's Do Not Disturb is on, notifications might be silent. Check your phone settings.
- Volume – Make sure your phone isn't on silent (check the mute switch on the side of iPhone).
- Badge numbers – In your phone settings, make sure "Badge app icon" is on for My Family Hub.
- Battery saver mode – Some phones limit notifications when in low-power mode.
Reinstall the app
If you've checked everything and notifications still aren't working, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This refreshes the notification permissions and usually fixes the issue.
Pro tip: If you deliberately turned off certain notifications (like "Chore completed") but want them back, go to Notification settings and toggle them back on!
