When the app just won't cooperate
A crashing app is frustrating! Before you panic, there are usually a few quick fixes that get things running again. Most issues are caused by outdated app versions, network problems, or cache buildup.
Quick fixes to try first
- Restart your phone – Sounds simple, but it works! Turn it off completely, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on.
- Check your internet connection – Make sure you've got WiFi or mobile data. Try opening a website to confirm.
- Update the app – Go to your app store (App Store or Google Play) and check for updates. Install the latest version.
- Clear the app cache – Go to your phone settings, find My Family Hub, and select "Clear cache". This doesn't delete your data, just temporary files.
- Uninstall and reinstall – If clearing cache doesn't work, uninstall the app completely and reinstall it from the app store.
If it's still not working
Make sure you've got enough storage space on your phone. A full phone can cause apps to crash. Also check that your phone's operating system is up to date (iOS or Android). Old OS versions sometimes conflict with newer app versions.
If you're using the web version (on a computer), try a different browser or clear your browser cache. Sometimes a stale cache file causes issues there too.
Still stuck?
If none of these fixes work, reach out to our support team with details: what phone you're using, what version of the app you have, and exactly what happens when you try to open it (does it not load at all, or does it crash after a few seconds?). This info helps us debug faster.
