Manage member roles and permissions

Control what each family member can do

Understanding roles in My Family Hub

Roles determine what family members can see and do in your hub. We've designed them to be flexible, so you can set up permissions that fit your family's needs and trust levels.

Available roles

Primary Parent/Admin – Full control. Can create events, assign chores, manage rewards, invite members, and adjust all settings. Usually the person who set up the hub.

Parent – Nearly full control, with minor restrictions on account deletion or family settings. Great for partners or co-parents.

Older Child/Teen – Can view their own chores and assigned tasks, see calendar events, but can't modify anything. Good for teens who should stay informed.

Child – Limited view of their assigned tasks, chores, and rewards only. Perfect for younger kids.

How to change someone's role

  1. Go to Family Management or Members section
  2. Find the person whose role you want to change
  3. Tap their name and select "Edit role"
  4. Choose their new role from the available options
  5. Save changes

Things to consider

As kids grow up, their role might change. A 16-year-old might graduate from "Child" to "Older Child/Teen" so they can see more of what's happening. Think about trust levels and responsibilities when choosing roles. You can always update roles later if circumstances change.

Remember: only Parents and above can make changes to roles and settings. Children can't change their own permissions or anyone else's.
