What's a chore streak?
A chore streak is when someone completes the same chore on time, multiple days or weeks in a row. It's fantastic for building good habits and shows commitment. Kids love seeing their streak grow, and it's a real confidence booster!
How streaks work
When a family member approves a chore (it's done and approved by you), their streak count goes up by one. If they miss a day or the chore doesn't get approved, the streak resets to zero. It's motivating because they want to keep the numbers climbing!
Viewing streaks
- Go to the Chores or Rewards section
- Look for the "Streaks" tab or section
- See each family member's active streaks and how many days they've maintained them
- Tap a streak to see more details (the chore name, when it started, points earned)
Streak milestones and rewards
Some families celebrate streak milestones—like when someone hits 7 days or 30 days on a particular chore. You can set extra rewards or bonus points for reaching these marks. It's brilliant motivation!
7-day streak – Show consistency and reliability
30-day streak – Demonstrate real habit formation
100-day streak – Wow! That's impressive commitment
Tips for building streaks
Make it visual! Many kids love seeing their streak number grow. You might even create a leaderboard so kids can see who's got the longest streaks. Just keep it fun and encouraging, not competitive in a negative way.
