Why we have different views
My Family Hub shows different features depending on whether you're a parent or child. This keeps things simple for the kids while giving you, the parents, all the control you need to manage your family. It's all about making the app work for everyone.
Parent view
As a parent, you get the full dashboard with access to:
- Create and edit events and reminders
- Assign chores to family members
- Set up rewards and manage points
- Edit family settings and permissions
- View everyone's activity and progress
- Manage the meal planner and shopping lists
Child view
Kids see a simpler, more focused interface with:
- Their assigned chores and tasks
- Family calendar and upcoming events
- Their earned points and rewards
- Motivation badges and streaks
How to switch views
If you're a parent, you can view the app as a child would see it. Just tap on your profile menu and select "View as child" (or similar option). This helps you understand what your kids are experiencing and makes sure the interface feels right for them. Switch back to parent view whenever you need to make changes.
Only parents can switch views—kids will always see the child interface. This is intentional, so parents stay in control of family settings and data.
