Automating your chore schedule
Instead of assigning the same chore every week, set it up to recur automatically. Daily dishes, weekly bin night, monthly bathroom cleaning—get them on repeat and you're golden.
Setting up a recurring chore
- Create a new chore as usual
- Look for the "Repeat" or "Recurring" option
- Choose the frequency: Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly, or Custom
- If weekly, choose which days it repeats (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
- Set when the recurrence should end (optional)
- Decide if the same person does it each time or if it rotates
- Save your recurring chore
Rotation options
Same person – The same family member gets the chore every time. Good for one person's responsibility.
Rotate – The chore passes to the next person on your list each time. Fair way to share jobs like washing dishes or emptying bins.
All assigned – Everyone in your family gets the same chore on the same days.
Managing recurring chores
Edit a recurring chore to change the frequency or who does it. You can update just the next occurrence or all future ones. Want to skip a week? You can pause a chore temporarily without canceling the whole schedule.
Tip: Monthly chores (like cleaning out the fridge) are easy to forget. Set a reminder to pop up a day before so no one misses it!
