What's the meal planner?
The meal planner helps you organize your family's meals for the week. Plan breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in advance. Once you've planned your meals, generate a shopping list with everything you need. It saves time, reduces food waste, and makes it easier to manage dietary preferences!
Why use it?
Knowing what's for tea at 4pm instead of standing in front of the fridge thinking "what on earth do I cook?" is brilliant. Plus, if the family knows what's coming, they can help prepare or let you know if someone's got footy and needs an early dinner.
It also helps you:
- Save money by planning before you shop
- Accommodate dietary requirements and preferences

Getting started with the meal planner
- Go to the Meals section in My Family Hub
- Select the week you want to plan (or start with next week)
- Click each day to add meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner
- Search for meals from your saved recipes or popular options
- Once you've planned the week, generate your shopping list
What happens next?
Once your meals are planned, you can generate a shopping list organized by aisle (produce, dairy, meat, etc.). You can edit the list, share it with family members, or sync it with your phone for when you're at the shops. Some families even assign family members to bring ingredients home!
The meal planner keeps a history of meals you've planned, so you can easily repeat favourite weeks or mix and match meals you know your family loves.
